English and Social Studies Learning Center
From Staples High Wiki
The English and Social Studies Learning Center at Staples High School is one of three learning centers within the building (along with the Math and Science Learning Center and the World Language Learning Center, arranged as part of the 2001 installation of such areas. This learning center provides necessary materials for classes of the English and Social Studies department. These include common literature books read (i.e. The Odyssey, Frankenstein, etc.) as well as the Social Studies textbooks that students commonly use. It is also used as the location for students to make up examinations for classes in those departments.
The learning center is currently located in Room 2038, just beyond the department suites for those departments. The current learning center contains six computers, a printing station (SHS-2038-BW01), four sets of desks, and a shelf of textbooks. This learning center opened with the rest of Building J on March 1, 2005; however until the recent move into Building K, the Science department also shared this space. That department has since moved into the new Math and Science Learning Center in Room 3051.
Previously, this such learning center was located in the lower Nine building, Room 912.
