George Cohan (1934-) was the Principal of Staples from 1975 to 1981. He replaced the short-lived Kenneth Brummel, who was an interim following Jim Calkins's resignation. He was best known for running the school during the dreaded Modernization project. His departure was provoked by the invitation to work at an abroad American school in Paris.

Unlike other principals, Cohan was also noted for having his office in Building Five instead of in the Main Office. This was due to his will for "privacy".
