The Mathematics Department at Staples consists of the teachers and courses in the study of mathematics.
All courses are held on the third floor; most are at the end of Building J and into Building K, although a great deal of courses meet in the rooms on the third floor of Building I. While the Six Building and a couple of rooms in the upper-Nine building contained the math classrooms before the current construction project, the department was by far the most decentralized during the project; after the second move (February 2005), some math classrooms had remained in the old building while many had moved to the New Building. However, the Math Learning Center was still in the old school. Many of those new building classes that math used were actually science rooms, and only after Building K was occupied did the department once again regain unity.
A total of three math credits are required to graduate.
