What is the Staples High Wiki?

A wiki is a collaboratively written, web-based repository for information. This site is a wiki for information related to Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut. The Staples High Wiki was constructed by students, for students, to serve our community by providing as much accurate and up-to-date information regarding our school as possible. Also see: Wiki

What do you mean, "collaboratively written"?

You can edit almost any page you see by clicking on the edit tab at the top of the page. Everyone is strongly encouraged to edit, for everyone knows something others don't, and this is the oppourtunity to share that information. Try to edit articles to which you can add something meaningful to, don't just edit for the sake of editing, and if you must practice editing, do so in the Sandbox. You are encouraged to be bold when editing, any mistake can be fixed, however, because of the relatively small user base so far, errors are not corrected as fast as they should be, thus, please be careful when editing, check for syntax errors and typos before you commit.

What is the Purpose of the Wiki?

The Staples High Wiki is an ongoing project with the purpose of acting as a repository for all Staples faculty and students. Since it is "collaborativly written", this project is ever growing and changing. As contributors, your purpose is to help as much as possible with the Wiki by submitting and editing articles. At the Staples High Wiki, one can find anything he or she wishes to know about Staples through articles written by students, for students. Here one will be able to find the most recent sports scores, biographies of teachers, events occuring at Staples, and just about any information relating to the best high school in the country (that is not an opinion, but a fact). Remember that this is not intended to be just a simple message board, but a detailed encyclopedia with all of the information about Staples that one could ever wish to know.

How do I edit?

At the top of every article there is a tab labeled Edit, to make your desired changes to an article, simply click on that tab. You will then be taken to a page with a big text box in it. Here is the raw text of the article. Make your changes here, summarize the edit and click on the Save Page button at the bottom. It is also highly reccommended that you to preview your edit's before submitting them.
