Updates

  • The wiki has been updated to version 1.6.3. Besides a few noticable GUI changes, mostly in the login page, the new version fixes a few bugs and some security issues. The wiki is also now running on the new Junker, the Computer Club server, and may be somewhat faster than before. However, the update broke certain things that I am already aware of; math tags no longer work at the moment and should be fixed in a few weeks. Please report any other bugs or issues to wiki@stapleshigh.net. --JSherman 17:12, 15 April 2006 (EDT)

New server

  • The wiki will be down for a little while afterschool on Thursday, April 13th while it is being moved to the new Computer Club server. It may also go down for an hour or so later that day and possibly that Friday and Saturday for software updates. We are currently pretty far behind in software versions, and the updates could last a few hours at most. However, the process will most likely be spread out over the course of the three aforementioned days. Also, please keep in mind that the wiki may look or act relatively differently after the updates and may be a little buggy, but it should run somewhat faster on the new server. --JSherman 18:41, 10 April 2006 (EDT)

TeX

  • TeX is now setup on Junker. The math tags now work for formulas. Everybody should go to their preferences and in the "Rendering math" section, set it to "always render PNG" to make the formulas look good. Thanks to Mlubin for setting up TeX. ~ JSherman (Thu Jun 16 00:09 EDT 2005)
  • TeX has been recompiled since the wiki was updated. Everything seems to be running smoothly, but if anyone has any problems with the math tags, email me. --JSherman 22:01, 19 Jul 2005 (EDT)

MediaWiki Versions

  • The wiki's software has just been successfully updated to version 1.4.6. Thanks to Tom for bringing the update to my attention. If you notice any bugs please email me at my Junker account. Thanks, --JSherman 21:57, 19 Jul 2005 (EDT)
  • The wiki has successfully been updated to version 1.5rc4. This is an unstable version of MediaWiki and is bound to have many bugs. I have already found and "fixed" a few. If you find any bugs, please report them to my talk page. Thanks! --JSherman 20:38, 21 September 2005 (EDT)
  • The wiki was finally completely updated to version 1.5, the newest stable version, about a week ago. There were a few permissions problems, namely with creating TeX graphics and uploading images. Both have been fixed but not really tested much. If there are any problems, email me. Thanks again to Tom for notifying me about the new MediaWiki version :) --JSherman 19:17, 20 October 2005 (EDT)
  • The wiki has been updated to 1.5.5 which fixes a major security hole. --JSherman 22:14, 18 January 2006 (EST)
  • MediaWiki has been updated to the newest version, 1.5.6 which fixed a bug in malformed edit comments, which would cause an infinite loop. --JSherman 17:36, 27 January 2006 (EST)
  • The wiki will be updated to the just-released version 1.5.7 soon. During that time, the wiki could be down for as much as 30 minutes. It will most likely be done on Friday night (March 3), Saturday or Sunday. Most of this downtime will be due to the re-integration of some of the custom code I wrote for the wiki. The new code will be more secure, easier to manage and make better looking pages. --JSherman 14:47, 2 March 2006 (EST)
