Stephen Rexford

Stephen Rexford (nicknamed Rex, Rexman and Ted Swanson) is an English teacher and graduate of Staples High School.

Mr. Rexford is one of the faculty advisors for the student newspaper Inklings. He teaches Study Skills, Journalism, and Advanced Journalism. Prior to the 2006-07 school-year he taught A.P. English. Instead, he now teaches Advanced Journalism, a course of his own design.

Mr. Rexford graduated from Staples High School in 1983. He has a B.A. from Skidmore College with a major in English and a minor in art history. He also has a Master's in education from Fairfield University in education and a M.A. from Middlebury College in English. He is currently working on a 6th year in administration at Southern Connecticut State University. He taught at the Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York for six years and Darien High School in Darien, Connecticut for three years. Mr. Rexford rejoined the Staples community in 1999.
