What are they?

A syntax error is an error that you or other students might make while editing a page. It prevents the page from being able to be seen by other students because it is not coded properly. Examples are things like missing images or HTML code that is not accepted by the wiki.

Missing Images

If you see this message while trying to insert a picture into an article, it means you haven't spelled the picture name correctly or you've forgotten to upload it. Remember not to upload innapropriate material!

Unacceptable HTML

Sometimes you may come across pages where the author tells about something on the page that really isn't there. This may be because of unacceptable HTML. The Wiki will only allow simple HTML commands to be published to prevent malicious code from being posted. Don't be angry at the author for misleading you. Just remember to test your pages before you publish them to prevent errors from occuring.

What to do if you find an error:

If you find an error in somebody else's code, post a message on their talk page. This will let them know that the error is there and they can fix it. Don't try and fix it if it is something major, or you might change what the author was trying to say. If it's a small error like Image:Image.jpeeg, feel free to fix it yourself, but be sure to tell the author what you've done.
