World Language Department
From Staples High Wiki
The World Language Department consists of the teachers and subjects regarding the study of languages other than English. Most classes, as well as the department's suite, are located on the first floor of Building K; however due to size constraints of that area some classes (as well as the Language Labs) are on the second floor of Building K, and two classes are held on the first floor of Building J (closest to K - Rooms 1034/1036).
Unlike other academic departments, World Language classes are not a graduation requirement; however they are preferred universally by colleges, with three years of such study preferred.

Courses Offered
Each language has five levels offered (labeled in the course names, 1 through 5). Additionally, an A level as well as Honors level for each individual course exists for French and Spanish. However, for French and Spanish (particularly due to the fact that they are studied before High School), Level 1 for those courses is only taken by students new to those languages, and are thus seldom offered.
